Time Management as Skill – The Art and Skill of Time Management (T-5)

Time management is the skill of being able to organize your time and effectively plan how much time is required to complete those activities.

Time management is therefore an organizational skill – requiring an ability to order and prioritize – and a planning skill – requiring foresight and realistic assessment of what is required to complete a task.

Managing your time ineffectively can result in:

  • Stress
  • Burn-out
  • Loss of credibility
  • Low quality of work
  • Inefficient workflow

Conversely, managing your time effectively can:

  • Enhance your credibility
  • Amplify your efficiency and effectiveness
  • Better work-life balance

Therefore, time management is a skill that a leader needs if they are to be effective and manage their stress and burnout levels.
