All of us know what good leadership looks like, feels like, and sounds like. The quality of leadership we experience from our boss, direct supervisor, professional colleague, or community member, determines to a great extent whether knowledge workers—and most health care workers, professional or not are knowledge workers—are enabled to do their best work. And of course, in keeping with the notion of People-Centered Care, the many family and community members we wish to enroll in making health care work also fall into that category.

LEADS is a framework that articulates the abilities leaders need to demonstrate in order to maximize the ability of knowledge workers to contribute to people-centered care. The purpose of this section of the LEADS Global website is get your impression as to the extent to which your leader—of whatever stripe or role—exhibits those leadership capabilities. Questions are based on the five domains of LEADS: Lead self; Engage others; Achieve results, Develop coalitions, and Systems transformation; as well as the key themes of diversity/inclusion and integrated service to patients and families.

Please follow the directions below. As time goes on, we will aggregate the data to get a picture of how well we are doing in terms of exercising LEADS-based leadership in multiple countries. As the number of respondents grow to a number that is large enough for us to report out on, look for a new feature on this site: a summary page. Thanks for doing this!
